Our fourth (?) brandywine. They are sweet and tangy, meaty and tender, slurpy-juicy, and, as you see, enormous. Actually, my ruler trick didn’t work well, because the tomato is sitting an inch or more behind the ruler. It’s actually almost 5″ in diameter.

It was even prettier from the bottom.

We had its brother in BLCTs for lunch – local bacon, local cucumbers, local whole wheat bread, and a yogurt herb dressing (my herbs, of course).

The tomatoes are picture perfect gorgeous….. a tomato grower’s dream. The sandwiches sound delicious as well!
