Grilled Illinois July 9, 2007Posted by merp in Food.
That’s local sweet corn, local bell peppers, fresh whole wheat bread from Mirabelle, and andouille sausage (parboiled in red wine before grilling) from Triple S Farm. (I guess the onions aren’t local, but they are from the co-op.) It was astoundingly delicious. Thank god it’s not all soybeans and feed corn here.
Aaron gets the credit for all this meal, of course. He also grilled some eggplants and made baba ghanouj for later.
That was last night. Tonight I made pesto with sweet basil from the garden – earth to plate in under half an hour.
