The Blizzard of Aught-Seven February 14, 2007Posted by merp in Animules, Champaign-Urbana, fernando, Life, Pisco!.
Not like it was a surprise. It snowed non-stop for over 24 hours, beginning Monday evening – high winds, too. Everything in town is closed – even today because snow removal is such an issue. The University of Illinois cancelled classes today and yesterday for the first time in 30 years!
So we were snow-bound yesterday, with the blizzard swirling around us. Everybody kept warm.
But it was actually pretty dull.
Plenty of work to be done today, though!
Snowdrifts everywhere, some 5 ft and higher, especially at the outskirts of town and beyond. Here’s a modest one at our building (here in town, buildings and trees keep the winds down).
